‘Bird Point’ had many visitors today including our resident Great Horned Owl, Hootie! A Woodpecker posed for us in the top of the tree in the lake (couldn’t get close enough to tell if it was an Ivory-Billed Woodpecker or not). Smile The Trumpeter Swans had company again; I counted 20 at one time! The Eagles were in a very active mood; swooping down out of the sky on to the ducks AND each other. Five of them even made their way to ‘Lost Field’, along with a Red-Tailed Hawk and they were in a fighting mood today!

Whitetail Deer were seen sharing a meal with Raccoons and Crows at ‘Dogwood Mountain’! They don’t seem to care who they dine with! Raccoons, Deer, Squirrel and many types of birds, (a Woodpecker, Bluebirds, Blue Jays, etc.) were also spotted at ‘Turkey Hollow’. Several Doves were enjoying breakfast at ‘Upper Springs’.

The Ice Capades revisited us at ‘Hidden Pond’ this morning, only this time the main attraction was ‘Turkeys on Ice’; over 100 showed up but not all were skaters! It got so warm this afternoon that the pond finally thawed and several ducks showed up to have themselves a swim. Several deer came in to feast at the feeder this afternoon and a really mean doe kept chasing the others away! She’d lift her leg and bop the other deer on the back or even rise up on her hind legs and get them with both hooves!

Four Deer sauntered into ‘Fossil Ridge’ this morning and stood and watched the sunrise and what a beautiful sunrise it was! I guess all of God’s creatures enjoy His wonderful gifts! White Deer and Whitetail Deer were everywhere at 'Deer Run', they spent most of the day resting in the trees coming out every now and then to get a bite to eat. One little yearling was resting and kept dozing and then would open his eyes real fast and do the head jerk. Cute…

I have to say, even on the slowest day… YOU WILL SEE ACTION!!! GUARANTEED!!! Here’s what’s already been seen at USeeWildlife.com: Bear, skunk, White Deer, White-tail Deer, squirrels, chipmunks, bobcats, coyote, raccoon, opossum, armadillo, many species of birds, (i.e. Doves, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Golden and Bald Eagles, Great Horned Owl, Trumpeter Swans, many different ducks (Mallard Ducks, Wood Ducks, etc.), Crows, Woodpeckers, Sparrows, Wren, Junco, Doves, Wild Turkey). Is there something that you have seen that I haven’t added to the list? Leave a comment after you read this and I promise to add it…

      Thanks so much! Fotonut…

    •      The Wild Turkeys were throwing a party at ‘Fossil Ridge’ this morning; maybe celebrating that this weekend is The Arkansas Big Buck Classic and not The Big Tom Classic! Whatever the reason, there were probably 100 or more turkeys running in circles, flapping their wings, gobbling and just having a fabulous time! I kept hearing a Woodpecker somewhere but had no luck finding it and it could have very well been the Ivory-billed Woodpecker but guess I’ll never know now! Smile The bird thicket was really active this morning with Doves cooing to each other plus several other birds including one male Cardinal having a bad hair day.

‘Upper Spring’ had the funniest squirrel in the feeder today. He was eating for a little while and then, I guess something startled him and he looked as if he were going to jump out of the feeder but stopped with his front paws on the edge and never moved another muscle for at least 20 minutes and that’s from the time I finally started timing him! I’ve never seen anything like it! There were also Whitetail Deer that made their way through, stopping for a bite at the feeder.

‘Lost Field’ had a couple of coyotes show up this morning for a short time. Several deer just did a stroll through stopping to jump and play a time or two. Loads of birds of all different types and sizes met at the feeder off and on all day. A beautiful Red-Tailed Hawk made an appearance before flying into the tree.

A precocious little yearling was seen chasing the crows at ‘Hidden Pond’ and later in the day the crows were ‘ice skating’ on the frozen pond. It must have been bird day at ‘Turkey Hollow’ and Dogwood Mountain’ because there were Doves, Cardinals, Junco, Sparrows, Blue Jays, a lone Woodpecker, and of course, crows. They got some great close-up shots of some Wild Turkeys. I hate to admit it but still no signs of Bigfoot; but I'll keep a constant vigil! ;o)

    •      What a great morning for Whitetail Deer at ‘Upper Spring’; they were making an appearance all through the morning! There were 6 feeding (5 does and 1 yearling) and then later in the morning, a couple of yearlings were having a late breakfast. One yearling did something really weird with his head; maybe sniffing the air or something? They got a good close-up of a squirrel, scurrying to and fro. Deer were also at ‘Hidden Pond’; had 3 yearlings playing around, butting heads and standing on their hind legs.  An eight point buck was also at the feeder this morning and we even got to watch a crow skating on ice! Feeder had 5 or 6 squirrel eating together and later a deer and squirrel were also dining partners. A Red-tailed Hawk gave us a treat by gracing us with his presence.

Birds, many types of birds, were in abundance at ‘Fossil Ridge’ today. A gorgeous Golden Eagle made his appearance at ‘Lost Field’, along with a couple of coyotes, many birds and several White-tail deer. ‘Dogwood Mountain’ had a visitor show up in armor today! A lone armadillo was rooting around deep into some leaves, obviously chasing after something! ‘Turkey Hollow’ had, at one time, over a hundred turkeys and that’s where they spent most of their day, at one time or another.

The Trumpeter Swans had a good time chasing off the Eagles today at ‘Bird Point’; guess they were getting too close. I don’t know what he was doing but had a Golden Eagle acting strange. He was on the edge of the water and would pick up stick and raise his wings like he might be trying to maintain his balance, he’d throw the stick down, walk a couple steps further, then pick up another stick. I haven’t a clue what he was doing but it was extremely interesting!

‘Deer Run’ was pretty active today with the deer in and out of the trees all day. They had several huge bucks at the feeder at once, some locking of horns, 1 horned (punk rocker) buck and so much more. All in all, another great day at USeeWildlife.com, however; as of today, no known sightings of Big Foot (aka Sasquatch) or the mysterious Ivory-billed Woodpecker so I hope everyone will join me in the never-ending search…

YOU WILL SEE ACTION!!! GUARANTEED!!! Here’s a list of other animals seen at USeeWildlife.com: Bear, skunk, White Deer, White-tail Deer, squirrels, chipmunks, bobcats, coyote, raccoon, opossum, armadillo, many species of birds, (i.e. Doves, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Golden and Bald Eagles, Great Horned Owl, Trumpeter Swans, many different ducks (Mallard Ducks, Wood Ducks, etc.), Crows, Woodpeckers, Sparrows, Wren, Junco, Doves, hundreds of Turkey).

I would love to hear about your experience so please reply with what you’ve seen and I’ll add it to the list! Thanks so much! Fotonut…

    • The birds were really active this morning at ‘Turkey Hollow’. Blue Jays, Cardinals, Junco, Sparrows, Wren, Doves and even some great close-ups of a Red-Bellied Woodpecker; now that’s exciting! I can honestly say that I don’t know much about birds but since I’ve been on USeeWildlife.com, I have found that I love birds! I believe I could become an avid bird watcher! I even spotted 4 turkeys scratching around in the grass for awhile. Several White-tail Deer passed through at different times of the day.

Two of the three coyotes hung around ‘Lost Field’ for a while today, running out and back into the woods. It snowed a little bit but just a few flurries which didn’t stop the Doves; there had to be 20 or more feasting at the feeder!

I guess there’s something about a frozen pond that draws the crows because at one point, there had to be a hundred or more at ‘Hidden Pond’. White-tail Deer were plentiful today too, along with a couple of squirrels, loads of birds and flocks of turkey.

Oh my goodness; have you seen Stickers, the resident White-tail Deer? I know I had to count over 20 points on him; he’s certainly a sight! I caught a pretty good glimpse of him today at ‘Deer Run’ along with hundreds of other White Deer and White-tail Deer!

Trumpeter Swans and Ducks were circling around the lake at ‘Bird Point’ today as they are every day. The Eagles were out with a vengeance, fighting like children do over who gets the last cookie. I believe we might have a bully or two among them as it seems they love to torment the ducks! I haven’t seen them catch one yet but they sure do love to swoop down and scatter them! Hootie even graced us with his presence tonight!

We had many different animals make their way through ‘Fossil Ridge’, ‘Upper Springs’ and ‘Dogwood Mountain’ today. It’s always a treat to watch and see what may appear next because at USeeWildlife.com, you never know! I’m still hung up on seeing my first Big Foot and Ivory-billed Woodpecker! Hey, it could happen! :o)

YOU WILL SEE ACTION!!! GUARANTEED!!! • ‘Bird Point’ always has something going on but we really had a treat today! We have 6 Trumpeter Swans which you can see swimming on the lake daily and they’re always up to something. They’re not averse to attacking Eagles or Coyotes or whatever else gets in their way but what a sight when they put on a show for us this morning; heads moving up and down, dancing and singing all in perfect unison! They had family in today as well; at one point we counted 18 Trumpeter Swans! The newcomers only stayed for the day but I feel confident that they’ll be back and we still have our 6 regulars!  The Eagles keep us entertained as well; they seem to enjoy dive bombing the ducks as they are swimming on the lake! At one time or another, we’ve seen close to 30 Eagles at one time; amazing!

Speaking of Eagles, we actually saw one swoop down on some of the deer at ‘Deer Run’ today! The deer scattered but it didn’t take them long to come back. We caught sight of a White Deer and a White-tail Deer locking horns; I counted about 20 points between the two of them!

‘Lost Field’ had the three Coyotes back again today. ‘Dogwood Mountain’ had a very nice 8 point buck feeding until a really strange noise startled him and he ran off. The sound was somewhere between a growl and a snort; hmmm; maybe a Bear, or a Wild Hog, or even, say…Big Foot?? :o) Whatever it was never materialized on camera, (this time anyway) but one day…

Spotted today on ‘Hidden Pond’, ‘Turkey Hollow’, ‘Upper Springs’ and ‘Fossil Ridge’ were White-tail deer, romping and playing, a whole family of 8 Raccoons dining in a feeder, hundreds of Wild Turkeys strutting their stuff, Crows just being Crows, and birds galore! We’ve spotted Cardinals, Blue Jays, Junco, Woodpeckers, Hawks, Sparrows, Wrens, Dove, Eagles and the list goes on and on but I’m still searching for the beautiful, ever evasive Ivory-billed Woodpecker! Wish me luck!

As you know by now, if you been on our site at all…

YOU WILL SEE ACTION!!! GUARANTEED!!! • In the headlines today - The Ice Capades comes to USeeWildlife.com at Hidden Pond! First squirrels and crows on ice and the main attraction - Deer on Ice! The first one I saw venture onto the ice was a baby and the second was a small doe and on both counts it was like watching a replay of Bambi when he went sliding all over the ice! :o) All animals involved put on a great show and no one was hurt! The first thing I thought was I hope I’m not the only one who saw it, so it made me very happy to see that 'skygirlblue' also saw it and posted a comment about it! Deer and turkey shared breakfast again and at one point, there were probably over 100 turkeys eating, gobbling and strutting around!

Deer were in and out all day long, today; all in all, a very popular place with the animals today! Deer Run had some great shots of several massive bucks at rest in the trees; first Whitetail and then a huge White Deer. Lots of birds were playing and eating in and around the feeder. There was a strange, unidentified rumbling noise heard at Dogwood Mountain this morning. Hmmm…could it be Bigfoot? :o) A great close-up shot of Bambi and several other deer at the feeder plus many Cardinals, Crows and other birds also spotted. Looks like another popular place for at Upper Spring this morning, followed by several Crows. 4 deer were spotted around lunch time. A good shot of a young buck this afternoon and several other deer were sighted before walking back into the woods. Lost Field was pretty quiet today other than a few small birds and lots of Crow. A lone eagle was spotted at one point but didn’t hang around too long. Turkey the deer and birds today; they were in and out all day… A lone raccoon visited the feeder Hollow was a great place for turkey this morning! There were probably 50 or more this morning! They got a great head shot of one of them! It never ceases to amaze me at how beautiful they are when they’re strutting around, feathers all puffed out! They ambled around for quite a while before strolling across the field and finally off into the trees, out of sight. Cardinals, Blue Jays, and many other birds were flittering around; eating, playing and perching in the branches.

A Woodpecker was spotted at Fossil Ridge a couple times today, but alas, it wasn’t the ever elusive (I refuse to believe extinct) Ivory-billed Woodpecker. This guy had a red head with black and white striped feathers. Blue Jays, Cardinals and Doves were ever present this morning; they even got some great up close shots! Nice shot of a female Cardinal in the branches of a Conifer. A lone 8 point buck wandered in for a snack before wandering back out and later, a lone turkey was spotted at the feeder before disappearing back into the woods. Bird Point stayed very busy all day today. The eagles, in all their glory, were sitting majestically in the branches of the tree, fighting with each other on the ground over food and even swooping down in attack. I watched a gorgeous Golden Eagle take a bath; if you haven’t seen them bathe then you’re certainly in for a treat when you do. Here’s a list of other animals seen at USeeWildlife.com: Bear, skunk, many deer (Whitetail as well as White Deer), squirrels, bobcats, coyote, raccoon, many species of birds, (i.e. Doves, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Golden and Bald Eagles, Great Horned Owl, Trumpeter Swans, many different ducks (Mallard Ducks, Wood Ducks, etc.), Crows, Woodpeckers, Sparrows, Wren, hundred+ of Turkey). If you’ve seen something not on this list, please reply with what you’ve seen and I’ll add it to the list! Thanks so much! Fotonut…

    • Great start to the morning; there had to be at least 30 or more turkey at Hidden Pond this morning! One of them even flew up and perched in a tree for a while. A couple of Whitetail Deer (a doe and 9 pt. buck) showed up and joined them at the feeder; what a sight watching deer and turkey sharing breakfast! They seemed to be enjoying Hidden Pond today because they were there, off and on, all day long. A flock of doves were feasting in the woods as the squirrels were scurrying in the brush. The three coyotes were back at Lost Field putting on their show again. I believe they get bolder each day. A little later in the morning a beautiful Golden Eagle made an appearance and we got to see a great ‘up close & personal’ shot of him! Amazing! Deer Run had many Whitetail and White Deer that we are blessed with seeing daily. I love the little spotted one; if you haven’t seen him, you really should make it a point to look for him sometime. Several turkeys were strutting around at Turkey Hollow. It’s hard to believe the beards on some of them! A Blue Jay was having himself a drink in the creek and several birds; Cardinals, Blue Jays, Wrens, etc. were feeding in the grass or sitting pretty in the trees. Turkeys and many deer were in and out all day. Late in the evening there was a ‘masked’ lone raccoon having himself a late night snack. Fossil Ridge, Upper Springs and Dogwood Mountain all had Deer and lots of Doves this morning, and they also happened to be sharing breakfast with each other. It began to snow around 9:30 but just for a little while. Squirrels playing in the feeder… Dogwood Mountain had a raccoon sharing a meal with 3 deer. Bird Point had a couple of Bald Eagles and a Golden Eagle perched regally in the trees as the Trumpeter Swans and probably hundreds of ducks swam in the Lake below them. The swans ventured out on to dry land for a while; absolutely gorgeous! I don’t know much about ducks and swans but I think the ducks might just view the swans as protectors. There was a coyote on the bank of the lake a day or two ago and one of the swans just swam right over there and chased him away. When all the swans returned to the water, the ducks seemed to gravitate towards them for awhile almost as if looking for protection. The swans don’t seem to be afraid of any of the other animals. Eventually, more Eagles showed up to bath in the lake or fight over the food or just sit in the trees and guard the point. Hootie, the Great Horned Owl, showed up to bring a close to another beautiful day! Still no Bigfoot or Ivory-billed Woodpecker but I’m staying optimistic! :o) Here’s a list of other animals seen to date (not necessarily what I’ve seen): Skunk, many deer (Whitetail as well as White Deer), squirrels, bobcats, coyote, raccoon, many species of birds, (i.e. Doves, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Golden and Bald Eagles, Hawks, Great Horned Owl, Trumpeter Swans, many different ducks (Mallard Ducks, Wood Ducks, etc.), Crows, Woodpeckers, Sparrows, Wren, hundred+ of Turkey). There have also been bear seen but I haven’t been lucky enough to see one yet. If you’ve seen something not on this list, please reply with what you’ve seen and I’ll add it to the list! Thanks so much! Fotonut…

    • First thing this morning I noticed there were several turkeys feeding at Upper Springs. I watched them for awhile hoping to see some strutting but it began to snow and most of the animals high-tailed it to cover. I switched to Lost Field and saw there was a coyote. I watched him for a few minutes as he attempted to haul the chunk of meat off and he was working pretty hard at it, too; acting really paranoid the whole time. He finally got a piece of the meat torn loose and ran off into the woods. A minute or so later he came trotting back with a buddy. They really put on a show for a few minutes, romping and playing almost like puppies then lo and behold, here comes a third one! They were having themselves a good old time; running back into the woods and then in a minute or two, here they’d come out again. It was funny to watch them having so much fun; looked like they were enjoying the cold weather. The Cardinals were out strong this morning until a Blue Jay chased them off. It wasn’t long before they were all back though. The dove seemed to be enjoying a snack with about 6 or more deer. I saw up to 16 Bald and Golden Eagle at one time today (if I counted right) and I've heard there has been as many as 26 at one time! Amazing... The best show of the day, hands down, was this evening when Hootie, the resident Great Horned Owl, made his appearance at Bird Point. I have to say, I think Hootie is my favorite character so far (at least until I get to see my first bear). He sat his pretty little self on that piece of frozen meat and just posed for the camera. I don’t think he moved from that spot for a long time, other than turning his head and looking around. He’d gaze straight into the camera just like he knew what he was doing. He finally left us though, and a few short minutes later a Bobcat showed up, also at Bird Point. The Bobcat hung around for a few minutes but then he also ran off into the blackness. Hootie came back shortly after that to perch, like a sentinel, on top of the meat and that’s where he sat until about 11:30 pm. All in all, it was a very good day at USeeWildlife.com! I can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds in store! Who knows, maybe one day Bigfoot will even make an appearance! :o) Here’s a list of other animals seen today: skunk, many deer (Whitetail as well as White Deer), squirrels, bobcats, coyote, raccoon, many species of birds, (i.e. Doves, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Golden and Bald Eagles, Great Horned Owl, Trumpeter Swans, several types of Ducks, Crows, hundreds of strutting, gobbling turkey, plus many more although I’m still searching for the Ivory-billed Woodpecker!) Hey, I can dream! :o) If I missed anything, please reply with what you’ve seen! Thanks! Fotonut…
